Amy Schumer has gone where no one has dared to go before and is joking and defending Bill Cosby following the allegations he has raped numerous women. Cosby has come under fire and has been accused by more than 20 women of drugging them and raping them. Since the allegations have passed the statue of limitations, the famous comedienne was not faced with any criminal charges. The only charges thus far are from former model Janice Dickinson, who has filed a lawsuit against Bill Cosby for defamation, stating that Cosby damaged her public image when his team said she lied about being raped by him in 1982.

In a skit that appeared on the Inside Amy Schumer, the comedian played Bill Cosby’s defense attorney, in a fake trial, in a fake court.
In the skit, Shumer, who plays Cosby’s lawyer, warms the jury up to Cosby by showing a bit of his hit comedy series, The Cosby Show, where he played, Dr. Huxtable. She then asks the question,
“Did anyone feel raped by that?”
“What about drugged?” When the jurors shake their heads, “no” she continues by saying, “I felt comforted by a familiar father figure.”
She then handed the jurors pudding pops, something Cosby is famous for. She then asked them “How could the face of such a yummy treat even do anything bad?”
The comedienne closed the “trial” by saying,
“This is a court of public opinion, if convicted, the next time you put on a rerun of the Cosby show you may wince a little, might feel a little pang. None of us deserve to feel that pang. We deserve to dance like no one’s watching, and watch like no one’s raping.”
Schumer has admitted this skit caused a lot of controversy in the writer’s room. That should have been her first clue that maybe it wasn’t a good idea to run with it. Joking about rape should be off limits – whether it’s Bill Cosby or anyone else. What do you think about Schumer taking on the topic of Bill Cosby raping women?
