Brian goes to Naz with a plan. He points out that the case of the day’s lead is on the FBI most wanted list- and he’s called in an anonymous tip to get him. He did Naz a favor, so he wants one thing: the right to pick his own cases. She reluctantly agrees- less so when she finds out he wants to take down the top ten on said Most Wanted list.
Rebecca hears about this and is skeptical about the reasons why he wants to choose his own cases- well, she knows, but she wants to keep it under wraps. Brian has a plan to go check out his own leads for the cases, and he makes a mini task force all his own with him, Rebecca, Casey, Boyle, ‘Mike’ and ‘Ike’ and a bunch of others. His team’s doubtful that he’s serious about taking down the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted. He insists he’s serious enough. He splits them up for each case, and also bring in a janitor who “knows what he needs to do.” Rebecca asks what the janitor is supposed to do, but Brian brushes it off. Later, Brian decides he wants to go after 12 on the list. Rebecca goes with it. That night, he goes home where he’s about to host a family dinner at his new place. All his family except his dad are impressed with it, and Brian’s clearly upset about his apparent disapproval. His father interrupts him to announce they should have dinner. Brian does the math after dinner and realizes that his father has a new problem with him. The next day at work, two of the Most Wanted have been taken down and have a lead about the third. They go to see if it pays off. The place is empty, and then Brian gets an alert on his phone that #3 is onto them and is watching them from across the street.
