Kim Richards managed to avoid jail time for the drunken incident that took place at the Beverly Hills Hotel on April 16, 2015.
Richards was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest. Since her arrest, she was in rehab for a bit, before going missing following her daughter’s wedding that took place in Mexico.
In exchange for no jail time, Kim must accept a plea deal of 30 days of community service, AA classes once a week for a year, restitution to the police officer she kicked, and three years probation. She also has to stay away from the Beverly Hill Hotel.
Richards was arrested following a confrontation that included her kicking a police officer in the leg and resisting arrest. At the time of the arrest, there were reports that the housewife from Beverly Hills was pushed to the brink after watching the three-part reunion special. While Richards had made repeated claims that she had been sober for three years, the other housewives who she starred with on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills begged to differ.
Following the reunion special, Richards went to rehab but during a few days off in late May to attend her daughter Brooke’s wedding in Mexico, she was said to have fallen of the wagon. The reality star was reportedly so drunk that her sober coach quit and left her in Mexico to fend for herself. Following the incident, Richards went missing for some time, before she returned to a facility for help.
Hopefully Richards will get the help she needs so she can remain sober and out of jail. Following the headlines for her illness, there have been reports that Kim Richards will not be back for season six of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. While Bravo has not made any comment on the reports some sources have said expect a possible cameo or guest appearance, but Kim will not be returning as a regular cast member.
A sober Kim may not make for good television, in addition to being a huge risk for the franchise. The pressure of filming may be too much for Kim driving her to return to alcohol to get through it.
